Drop a Line: What Do You Think About Pink?
The Blue Wahoos debuted new alternate uniforms on Sunday against the Montgomery Biscuits, winning the final game of a five-game series 8-2. As one of the only professional sports teams to incorporate pink in their logo, the new threads go beyond the usual uses of breast cancer awareness and Mother’s Day. Pensacola plans to use the jersey in combination with their three-shirt rotation of white, gray, and navy blue.
Team officials highly approve of the pink jerseys, including owner Quint Studer. After attempting a blue alternate jersey last season, he was displeased with the discrepancy from the team colors. The pink uniforms — labeled as “salmon” or “neon red” by several publications — were closer to the logo’s roots, said Studer, and likely to last farther into the future.
But how about you? HLS is attempting its first fan poll, running today through Sunday, posing the same question I have asked and answered. One vote per person, so make it count!
